Cool man, I'm glad it worked for you! Burning with Burner Max is hit and miss, and those settings have been the only ones to give me consistently good burns.

I buy burned xbox dvds from my friend. Can I take backups of these DVDs and then burn it into blank DVDs. Does abgx360 patch required? I think I just have to make ISO of the dvd using DVD decrypter and burn that ISO into Verbatim 8x DL DVDs. Am I correct?

    Hi,
Ive got serious issues here -tried everything but still wont work. Heres the situation, hope you can help..

Ive got LT2.6 and the latest dashboard
Ive got imageburn 2.5.6.0 (use calculate optimal)
    Im using verbatim discs
I dont have a lite on writer but have a pioneer dual layer writer
My dvd layer breaks are set correctly
    I use 'truncate'
I burn the disc and insert it into the 360 and a message comes up to say disc is unreadbale, clean it and reboot xbox. (X box plays XGD2 fine)
    I dont play online

Can you please help - ive got about 12 wasted discs

Is your drive definitely flashed with the latest version of LT+? What make/model of DVD drive is in your 360?

@KBKBKB - I missed your post, but that burn is great and about as good as it gets. As long as games are working OK and you consistently get burns of that quality, stick with whatever settings you're using! If you do change settings for some reason in the future, then yes - they're reversible. The only thing that's not reversible is clearing the OPC history, but that's not a big deal. If you need to enable OPC again, the drive will start to "learn" again with each disc you burn, so the OPC history will fill up over time.

There is no such thing as LT+ 2.06, but I'm guessing that you mean "2.0b" as that's the latest firmware for the Hitachi 79 drives.

If that's the case, this is why it doesn't work (taken from the changelog for LT+ 2.0b): -

So you need to get one of the iHAS burners so you can flash it with Burner Max and burn the full ISO.

Burner Max FAQ if you need it: -

    quick update

As per usual it's all going to s**T :(

i got a lite on ihas 124B because my old SONY burner kept freezing IMGburn on 50% while burning 3 out of every 5 times.

i put Max on the new lite on and the first burn was great (MW3)

the 2 next burns (AVP and Driver SF) burn but fail the verify at 50%

when checked both disks have this kind of graph, and Xbox says they are dirty on 48% instal

Whats going on and how can i fix it? Should i try those other settings?

you seem to know your stuff

    Cheers

That's sort of what happened to me - Great burns at first, then burns started failing to verify and the KProbe scans were awful. I don't know what's going on with the blank scans you just posted, but I would definitely try the settings I mentioned, and make sure to clear the OPC history.

cheers I'll try the settings and post back

It's odd because my other sony burner failed to burn on the 50% area lots. I keep thinking I wonder if it's the sata cable being faulty, or which sata plug it's plugged into on the computer. (but its problably paranoia)

    I'll try the settings :)

This made it work so far 4 out of 4 burns

a couple of wobbles on the graph but pretty good

this was probably the most spikey.

    Thanks for the help bro

Fingers crossed it will stay working. If it miss burns again in the future do i clear the OPC again?

The PIF spikes up a bit too high there, but there's only 2 spikes with a max of 6, so as long as the game installs and plays you should be fine.

Since I've been using those settings I haven't needed to clear the OPC history, cos OPC is turned off anyway, but it wouldn't hurt to try doing it again if burns start to go bad.

hey for all you people having problems burning xgd3 disks what type of media are you using? i rip the games with the ixtreme v3 0800 firmware on my extra benq drive. and i have not had a single bad rip yet. i burn them using my lite-on sohw 1693s dvdrw dl burner. which is just a regular burner and i have absolutely no problems with the xgd3 disks everyone i burn works flawlessly. and like people say that without the ihas burners that it will only burn upto 97% and stop not true mine burns all the way to 100% with no errors. ive burned batman arkham city, assassins creed brotherhood, forza 4, battlefield 3, saints row 3, call of duty modern warfare 3 will all no problems. so just because someone else is having probs with these games or any xgd3 games doesnt mean it wont work for you. also they may be kinda expensive but when it comes to disks verbatim dvd+r dl 2.4x disks is definitely the route to go for dvd media. if anyone needs any help with burning anything just please let me know and ill help as best as i can.

That's a common mistake. Your drive is only burning 97% of the ISO to the disc. You're just misunderstanding how the progress bar in ImgBurn works: -

Overburn (the old method) - The progress bar shows how much of the ISO has been burned to the disc. It'll get to 97% and fail as the disc runs out of space.

Truncate (the option you're using) - The progress bar shows how full the disc is. It'll get to 100%, but that only means that the disc is full. It does NOT mean that you've burned 100% of the ISO to the disc as this is only possible with a drive flashed with Burner Max firmware. You're still only burning 97% of the actual ISO.

I don't know if people are still having issues with MKM-001 Verbs and 2.4x speed, but I have a possible solution for a better second layer. I am using the iHAS124 burner with the LT Max CFW to burn full XGD3 backups. At first I was using these settings:

EEprom Utility: Hyper Tuning "ON", Smartburn "ON", Over Speed "ON", Online Hyper Tuning "ON"

    IMGBurn Setup: OPC "OFF", 2.4x

After only 1 out of 3 or 4 good burns, I decided to change it up to get a better second layer. The first layer was perfect, but the second always went high. PI max of 200+ and averages of 40-60 range. Not good. So I played around and made a few coasters to come up with these settings for the MKM-001 Verbs:

EEprom Utility: Hyper Tuning "OFF", Smartburn "ON", Over Speed "ON", Online Hyper Tuning "OFF"

IMGBurn Setup: OPC "ON", 4x (I also clear OPC in IMGburn advanced section before each burn....not sure if it helps though)

Now I got three successful burns in a row, going for #4 as I write this (not on the same PC of course). I also don't touch the PC when it is burning and shut down any and all apps that are running. The isos are on a separate HDD also.

My PI max is never over 100, and PI avg. is always under 5. I have three Modern Warfare 3 coasters using the old settings, but after the final settings change, it passed KPRobe on the first burn. Kind of odd how burning at 4x is better than at 2.4x, but it worked for me. Maybe for you as well. I forgot to save my new MW3 KPRobe, but I can post the pics when this burn is done and I can run the disc in KPRobe again.
