Hello, Just installed my new SmartXX V3 chip in my Xbox. I tried copying the orignal HDDs contents over to my brand new 200GB Maxtor DiamondMax 21 HDD (1:1 copy). But under the drives info, it lists it as "unlockable" Am I SOL? Thank you in advance,
any drive that locks is unlockable, all you need is the EEPROM (the key) that locked it or a good chip, i don't know about the SmartXX i only install Xecuters but I've used that same diamondmax drive in at least 20 mods with no problems kc
Thanks for your reply, The solution to my problem was I traded the drive for a used 200GB Western Digital which I was able to copy to no problem.
do you by chance know the model number of the Maxtor drive that was giving you the problems? i did some checking and the DiamondMax 21's I've used in a 200g size were STM3200827A models and they worked with no problems. kc
