Im trying to put in an old 40 gig I had lying around. It's a Quantum Fireball Plus, pretty old and u probably have never heard of it. Anyways I have it locked with the HDM program but whenever I plug it into the xbox it tells me to call for service. I think it was error 06 or 09. Was I supposed to update my bios or anything on the xbox it self? Thanx

It'll be error 6, you have have to lock the drive with the correct eeprom.

Read my HDD upgrade tutorial to show you how!

im thinking it may have been possible that i burnt the disc wrong. If I unlock the hd will I be able to rebuild it ok? or will it be damaged

Error 6 is the WRONG eeprom, no point in arguing or calling the program stupid. There are two eeproms on a softmodded Xbox. The virtual one and the one we want!

My guide explains how to check for the correct eeprom using 'LiveInfo'

Ok Ok, you were right. I was reading another tutorial and it told me to get the eeprom from the wrong place. I have my hdd working now, just with one pretty big problem... Its a 40gig hard drive but it only says I have 11 gigs in my f drive. did I do something wrong.
