    Hi,
I had a faulty motherboard on xbox v1.0 and had to replace it. As the original HD was locked i have added a brandnew HD and loaded it with Evox and X3 latest bios and all works fine. Thing is that i dont have the original M$dash and therefore cannot boot with chip disabled as the orginal files arent there as i cannot get them of the locked hard drive. Does anyone know where i can get all of the files required to boot up wit the original MSDash (chip disabled).
    thanks

we're not allowed to just tell you where to get that. the ms dash is owned by ms and its got all the copyright stuff on it so its elligal to even take apart i believe, let alone to download it off the internet...

I have done a rebuild using slayers disk. Now i recieve an error 21 when booting chip disabled. everything still works fine with chip enabled. I have locked the disk. I've already loaded loads of stuff on the machine and really didnt want to do a whole rebuild of the drive. I've read some places that the latest msdash with xbox live could be the cause but i cant find an older one. Anybody have any other ideas ?

i had the same thing , you may not want to do this but I logged into to xbox live(via a game) with my chip enabled and it updated my dash for me ( i know its a risk but i was out of options) now it all works fine with chip enabled and disabled and i can still play on live :)
