No. Liteon 1.5 will be just as secure as any other drive that is updated to 1.5 No more swapping is necessary.

 

if the system came with a liteon you should mod the liteon and use it when 1.5 comes out... best to keep things consistent to avoid being detected

 

As soon as MS catch wind that these new dvd drives can be hacked and patched up they will be looking for another manufacturer to supply there consoles the dvd units. i think they have just had every make of dvd player in there console now and every time they have been defeated. Ms may aswell just give up and let us play our back-ups.
personally i dont play back ups online but only my originals.

ok, so just to clarify, on the 24th of dec there will be a way to flash your lite on, so u dnt need to spoof another drive in, right? so that means we can all play back ups using our lite on drives?

I'm wondering if it takes a few revisions to get the Benq firmguard right on the Benq will it not also take time to get Liteon to work as good? Should I allow time for them to get the Liteon bugs worked out? Or does it just not work that way?

they're doing all the testing on the firmware right now. So I'm going to feel very confident that when they do release it, it will be just as good as the firmware for any other drive.

 

at this point, im taking the 24th dec release date with a grain of salt. reminds me of the time that PS3 scene group put out a release date for a PS3 hack. it turned out to be a hoax

I could agree with you, IF this was the very first release of a hack for the 360. However, this isn't. The firmware hack has been around for a while now, with revisions constantly being made. So this isn't going to be a hoax.

Hey guys, been reading through all the posts, and it really is exciting. I have a question, and I think the reason it hasn't been asked is because it may be too simple, lol.

I just ordered the Xtractor to nab the keys off my Lite-on drive, however I'm curious of one thing, you don't have to disconnect the Xtractor in order to flash the drive do you? Never flashed a drive before, and don't want to bang my head against the wall b/c of a simple thing like that. I'm assuming it's okay to leave it attached during the flashing process, right?

Its hell enough trying to find out stuff here, everyone you ask always acts as if you're an idiot. Could some of you just put on a nice facade for the new people - for god's sake?

There's not one decent guide on the Internet which describes what the hell a modchip is, or what the connectivity kit does, and how you "mod" the Xbox. And if they are, they're pretty much redundant. So please guys, sharing knowledge is a good thing, not bad.
