No problem henry......glad to honor your wishes and your wish has been granted...it just narks me that just because it is the internet no-one believes anyone ....what ever happened to a mans word ? Just be happy that people have cracked the lite-ons and bought out new FW to enable us to do what we ALL do best in here...

I think it is the wisest move not to believe people on the internet. If you read half the stuff I do then you would most likely agree. At any rate, I assume since you have proven yourself once I think most people will read your future claims with a little less skepticism.

Hey i think you maybe right looking back on some of the posters here in this forum.Maybe i should just keep what i know to myself in the future might save a lot of rubbish,and the post i commented on about guesswho was not sarcasim and i'm sure he will take it with a grain of salt as i had done the honourable thing ,guesswho knows what i'm talking about.

i was reading the tutorial from iriez(i believe) that was posted from xbox-scene, and in the tutorial it says...
Important notes:
• Tray Status needs to be closed, but drive half open
• Serial port on LiteOn MUST be in tact (or using a probe/spear)
• You only need R707 joined
• Sata and Serial/USB connected to PC
• Drive powered ON

using the probe/spear i understand... but it says R707 joined... i thought the probe/spear was the solderless solution and you didn't have to solder anymore?

....OMG u were already doing that by comming here and always saying u had this or that info but u were not privey to tell us....what is the point of doing that? its useless there is no point. guesswho is giving info to us, even if it is the same info you do have there is a difference in someone that is here to share and help and someone that comes into the room with the mentality of "oh i could help these guys or i could tell them that info but instead i will just let them know i am in the know and then tell them i cant help" that doesnt do anything but make u look like a dick dude seriously.

your just an idiot cobber...guesswho has the good technical mind(and hands on) and can explain those things much better than i ever could....i'm a hands on person,practical worker not a theory worker(paperwork,explaining) and for your info i suspect i had more info on the situation long before guesswho and I WAS privvy to that info,i wasn't going to rain in on someones parade for their hard work,i said things in a round about way,it's how you interpret it

Just finished flashing 2 liteons with success. Got me kind of scared at first cause i had a problem with the jungle flasher program.

Ok first off i extracted the keys with the xtractor and spear tool and i got the new tools from xbins.

I then loaded them into the jungle program to spoof and saved out my custom firmware as CFW.bin i then attempted to erase with the jungle firmware turned off my drive and back on and it failed. i then tested the drive and it would not eject, strange. i then tested eraseing again and it said everything worked fine. still would not eject. i then attempted to write and it would say it worked fine but then verrification would fail. i then tested it in the xbox and got E64. Now i was scared because it wouldnt even eject. So i decided to attempt the dos flash version. In dos flash i ran the L-O-eras.exe on the correct port and it didnt seem to do anything. i then ran the dosflash program and used the "Liteon e" command and it worked fine (Note this is a new version of dosflash.) i then attempted to write my CFW.bin and it again erased and wrote the CFW to the drive. phew now it ejects again. I then put it in the xbox drive and everything works fine backups and everything. WOOOHOOOOO!!

In conclusion dont panic if your drive wont eject anymore lol but be ready to use the old dosflash method.

Somebody correct me if I am wrong, but did the author of this tutorial forget to add in the inquiry and identify strings. I see where they saved them, but it doesn't look like they were put into ix1.5 ?! Or is that what the dummy.bin contains is the indentify and inquiry strings that are transferred over to ix1.5 along with key .. Nevermind... i see the answer in one of the pictures .. sorry!

 

I plan on doing this to update my 360, can anyone tell me if I am about to screw something up.

I followed these instructions for the firmtool:


Copied firmtool, original FW (renamed from SAM-OFW.bin to orig.bin) and hacked FW (renamed from Sam-CFW.bin to hacked.bin) to a USB stick (G

Opened Command Prompt and went to G: directory and typed "firmtool orig.bin hacked.bin (pressed enter and firmtool ran with no problems).

Then renamed hacked.bin to Sam-CFW.bin and flash with IPREP

Will this work? Thanks for the help.

 

i have never used that method i just use iprep all the way. in fact i just flashed 2 ms25 units that hadnt been flashed before and they work fine.

 

I couldn't get the 1.5 FW to work with iprep. Maybe I need to download again. Thanks

 

u have to update the def file for iprep so it will recognize the new 1.5 fw. the file can be found on xbins it is called ixDef_1.5-ixtreme.rar and has a readme file telling u where to place it. just overwrite the old one with the new one and it will work after that.
