No one is/was being sarcastic it's just that it's common sense and as you can see next to various posters name their AD status Newbie right through to Senior Member even Administrator and they get sick of people asking the same question in the same topic all the time.
As for your 360 depends which part of the world you are from, M$ service centres don't even worry about the warranty seal, yes some do and are rather hard in dealing with, but here down under my experience with M$ service centre has been very good, you see the service centres are contracted to repair the consoles(not owned by M$) so it's no great loss to them in other words they don't worry about the state of the sticker but in saying all that i have heard that there is one scroogy technician that does refuse on the grounds of tampered seal.
they know the faults with the xbox 360 and they inform M$ accordingly and you will be issued with either a new or refurbed 360
i dare say that you will be given a 360 with a Benq now that they know lite on is hackable, they will be using up their old stock now
As for the sticker....if done correctly you shouldn't need to use any of the methods you described above, all you do is carefully flip one side and it peels off the sticker itself leaving it in place on one half of the case and when reassembling it the sticker lines back up to where it originally was,the only way that the sticker would get abused is if you forget that you have left it on one side of the case.

As long as you get all the files out first...Key.bin,Enquiry.bin and Identifier.bin and have a dummy.bin you should be fine

the lite on drive will have to be flipped downwards when modding right? so that means that the power cable will be put in upside down?

Jackal you said you mad it with a few transistors, and resistors. Is this using a bread board with the max2323 or did you somehow do this without any of that? Sounds very interesting how you did it please elabourate.

i used a breadboard, yes, but i didnt use any IC at all, like i said 2 resistors and a npn transistor, if you google "free lite on key" you'll find it, its really easy =]

I used the same schmatic for the homemade tool as well. I soldered all the connection points and then went back and used hot glue to seal them to make sure there were no exposed wires and then put electical tape over the hot glue. I did not use a bread board because my transistor and resistor wires were too sort because I cut them off of a Compaq monitor but the tool worked like a charm and it was FREE!

No that's not true. As long as the games are stealth, then the 360 games will be able to be played just fine.

Well a quick update from me.

I ran into another liteon the other day so I set out to flash it. This time it was on a different computer than the one I used previously. This already had VIA drivers installed on it. So I thought I got rid of them all (i did the uninstall) but windows kept prompting me to reinstall the drivers (yes I did look in the system32 folder). So I obviously had missed something somewhere.

I decided to go ahead anyway and try it to see what would happen. I installed the portio drivers from maximus's website using the .inf file, NOT the exe.

Once installed, I started jungleflasher, and was able to dump everything fine. I was able to spoof key onto my hacked firmware and saved a copy of the hack fw with my key inside on my desktop.

Went to go erase, and everything went fine. Returned with the 0x72 status just fine. Went to write, and everything froze. And by everything, I mean just jungleflasher. So this was kind of a pain. I had to force quit out of jungleflasher (drive would not eject or anything obviously since it was completely erased).

I ended up making sure that the hacked firmware I had was still usable (opened it in jungle to make sure key was inserted). Then I used dosflash 1.7

Pretty easy gui to work with . All I did was make sure that the port was selected that had my liteon, and then I selected from the drop down menu the write command.

When I hit start, it asked me to select which firmware to write with, so I selected the hacked firmware I made and saved to my desktop. It then proceeded to flash all 4 banks, and it worked perfect.

So this might debunk my theory earlier. However, it wasn't the same setup as I had suggested since I obviously didn't get rid of all the via drivers/files.

Main purpose of posting this was in case anyone else had issues, you could follow this "method" (not all that detailed right now, but a really good guideline[hopefully]) and learn to flash your liteon with this alternative method.

    Hope it helps

That is basically what i was trying to say in my post about 1-2 pages back, only difference is we were using the same PC ....it appears that it happens to each second or third drive that this happens to.You do the first one no problems so your feel that bit more confident in doing the next one then it happens as you have described above then we did a third drive and it was all done in 30 seconds, did the fourth one did the same as your description again...so yeah basically every second to third drive would act up

I would just like to add that the JungleFlasher makes flashing a BenQ SOOOO easy! Thanks developers!
