if u are using iprep v006 u dont have to type any ofw or cfw it does it all for u.

like i said before it is the same process. the key is still in the hacked fw so u just read it like it was never flashed and flash it the same, its that simple.

Is it normal for a Benq drive to make loud grinding noises after flashing it I-xtreme 1.5 with Iprep 0.08 ? Note I tried updateing the definitions to the newest one's on Xbins but when I do this Iprep can't recognize the Lite-on or Benq xtreme firmware so I had to uninstall Iprep 0.08 and reinstall and not update the definitions andy ideas anyone ?

i thought it was normal for all 360 drives to do this. except maybe liteon.i have a samusng and before i flashed at all it did would make sounds like that when it got done spinning and slowed down or when firs tturning it on. i flashed to 1.4 with speed of 8x and the noise stopped. when i flashed to 1.5 and it only lets u do 12x then the sound started again but not as often. and for comparison i also flashed another samsung unit with 1.5 at 12x of course and it hadnt ever been flashed before then. i gave this 360 to my nephew and we play cod4 a lot on live and we often play in the same room with 2 tv setup. i noticed when we get done playing a map or something and the disc stops spinning his will make a loud grinding noise (we like to call it the 360Fart) while mine doesnt make the noise.
so maybe it has something to do with the little round piece that holds the discs into the drive securly with the magnet maybe it isnt as powerfull or maybe it is simple dust getting in there and making it harder to grip the disc and it slips when going from high speed down to verylow/no spin at all. sorry if i rambled just got in from a 2 hour drive and im pooped

Over time, dust and lint will build up on the rubber pad which grips the disc, allowing the disc to slip when the drive rapidly increases and decreases rpm's.

Clean off the pad with rubbing alcohol and a q tip. And while you're in there, might as well do the laser and drive belt for the tray gears.

I flashed straight to 1.5 brand new system only a month old I have a second Benq a year old also flashed straight to 1.5 and it's less noisy but still worse then before they were flashed both are at 12x since that's the only option available for 1.5 right ?

how good and compatible is this firmware? I have a first gen 360 with the first firmware people use to flash. Now I have a jasper 360 and im going to flash it with 1.5iextreme. Is the ixtreme better then the first gen firmware flash?

wait until 1.51 is released before you flash your console, no sense in doing it now and again within a few weeks.

and the FW that is going to be released will work for any console, just make sure to use the one that corresponds with your drive make.
