new lap top battery won't charge

    Dell latitude D600, 5 yrs old, battery stopped charging. Got new battery online, wouldn't charge. Drained it, wouldn't charge. Sent back RMA, got new battery. Won't charge either. What's wrong with the laptop??
    take the battery out, just a/c cord and it's fine

    perhaps the connectors between the laptop and battery are screwed up

    sounds like something is damaged at the connection point of the power cable, either the adapter pin or within the laptop part.

    Does wiggling or twisting the adapter while its connected have any affect?
