I have always used Nero Recode & Nero Vision Express to create My dvds... whether its backing up old dvds.... or putting my DivX holiday clips onto a dvd so that it plays in dvd players etc Now that I have Vista and a new laptop I cant find a version of Nero that runs and works on Vista.. please bare in mind im not willing to spend 50 quid and buy the new number 9. i have tried DVD shrink and it does not seem to work on the laptop either. Is there any free software that will a) rip my dvd's b) allow me to put my ripped dvds onto DVD c) allow me to put Divx movies onto a dvd so it plays in dvd player I did read up abit on here and though shrink would have the answers - but as mentioned - cant get it to work.. When i click ripp or whatever my dvd drive freezes up any help would be great
Rip with dvdfab (free) Process with fixvts (free) to use dvd shrink, you may have to log in as administrator and run it in compatability mode. use imgburn to burn your results to disk to format your movies from dvd to divx, you need to use either autogk or handbrake (both free) Here is a link that may help your vista experience. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/679509
Hi and welcome to our humble abode. However, thread title renamed from "Hi all - new here - Newb question", a title like that is as bad as "Please Help". In future please see here about thread titles ~ http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/440385
Hi, thanks for replies I use DVD decryptor to copy my dvds.. I then will try and use ImgBurn to copy onto dvd My question is these programs dont really have the options like Nero does to create nice menu's etc I used Img burn to create an image from two divx files - however it appears to save in a winrar or winzip file? normally when i copy a dvd is saves in a wierd different format whic i can just burn to a dvd and it works immediately on any dvd player Can i just wack what appears to be a zip file onto the dvd or am i using imgbrun incorrectly ? Thanks fellas
ImgBurn saved it as an ISO file. Just burn that file. You could have just burned the files directly with ImgBurn without creating an ISO.
nero 7 and nero9 will work with vista i have nero 9 and i have vista and i have no problem running them
