People, LG has a Brand New Multi-Format DVD+RW Drive on the market. GSA-4167BI (Retail Model#) Take a look at the specs on this Bad Boy!It's out there, hard to find right now, unless you live in Japan But I did a search & found a couple online retailers selling the "Bulk" drive. Follow the link & Check this one out! http://lgusa.com/Product/proddetail...tegory_level=4&totalItem=5¤tPage=1&perPage=10 By the way, I have 2 Lg Multi-Format drives, GSA-4120B & GSA-4160B, they both ROCK! Literally over 1000 successful burns with these & No failures, not even a hiccup! [bold]I gotta have this one! Soon as I see it in Retail version, I will!
Here is a review for the LG GSA 4167B: http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Reviews/Specific.aspx?ArticleId=14976&PageId=0 Here's an OEM, bunnyrip .. Why wait for retail? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827136064
Impressive Huh!Supports Book Type settings changes too! What do YOU think of this one catfreak? I can tell you this for sure, Both of my LG Burners have given me Excellent Service!
Looks like a nice drive .. doesn't booktype DVD+RW though .. the only discs I record on are +R anyway so that wouldn't matter .. it does record on DVD-RAM, but not too many players like that stuff and it's $$$ .. right now I'm getting used to my new BenQ DW1640 .. I like it a lot and it really flies!
I don't use DVD RAM catfreak, not until those prices go DOWN. However, these LG Multi-Format drives CAN do it, That's all I use are the LG Multi-Format burners,LG Readers too. I have a Retail GSA-4167BI coming!. Just because it can, doesn't mean I will. I just like those drives. They have a 100,000 hour Power on life! By the way, I like the Retail Drives because, LG STRONGLY recommends against trying to flash the OEM/Bulk drives. I feel like the retail drives are somewhat better. Don't mind paying an extra 5-10 bucks more for those. I'll post MY review after I get it this coming week. My GSA-4120B & GSA-4160B perform very well! I'll see if that 4167B does what they say it will!
