hi, i got pen drive linux it works well. What i want to use it for is pc's/laptops with viruses and what not, i want to be able to boot this up and then run a virus scan on the main hard drive. Is it possible to install programs on the USB version of linux? what virus program should i use? Any tips for using linux thanks
Couldn't he use Wine to run something like AVG or something. It would just scan for windows viruses but that's the point, right? Then he could just save the installation files on a USB drive?
Wine?.. the well known security risk.. Probably not because it only emulates a windows api. (ok ok.. I know full well it isn't an emulator but it's the easiest way to explain it to a n00b) clam-av for linux.. it's as easy as that.. if you have windows then use a fekkin windows av solution on it!! jeeez.. sometimes I wonder what the point of open source applications and operating systems is when all morons want to do is run windows closed source proprietary lock-in applications on them.
