Did we not have this discussion before? You can't really change your CPU without changing your motherboard, you certainly wouldn't net much of a benefit - your PC just needs updating entirely, a new CPU alone won't do it.

Not doable I don't think - your board won't support CPUs higher than 1.8Ghz. You need to get a replacement motherboard too.

Essentially, back up all your documents then bung the CD in and run the reinstall feature.

Hi, i don't want to sound rude. But you don't sound overly confident when it comes to PC's so i would suggest taking your PC to a store and asking them for upgrade advice.

It's going to be a full system rebuild, so you might want to consider getting a new PC built from scratch, even if its a custom spec one - if you do do that, make sure you get one with a decent graphics card, not the 8500GT, 8400GS or integrated rubbish they like putting in them.

Well, quite. 1GB of video memory? How could I lose?! Lol
I fell for that once can you believe, of course back then it was a 256MB Radeon. A 256MB Radeon 9200...

and yet it would be really nice to see 1GB on a 9800GTX or 8800GTS G92. I don't think one even exists, does it?

I don't wish to be rude, but if the book says 2.2Ghz, what do you think the chance of using a 2.4Ghz will be?

I would say probably not, you need a dual core compatible motherboard. Also dont always trust Minimum requirments for game. Alot of the time, even if you meet the minimum requirments the game still wont run or will be as slow as hell

We've been through this before, your PC CAN NOT play new games. You HAVE to fully upgrade it in order to do so. If that's not something you can afford to do, tough luck I'm afraid.
