new modem

    I use a voyager 100 modem to connect to bt broadband,but have aquired a thomson speedtouch 756 wireless router.

    I have tried to use this to connect to bt but i am getting no luck

    There were no drivers with it as it was a friends old aol modem.

    When i do try to connect it says faild due to some ppo....... issue

    any ideas

    Not all routers work with all service providers, like my speedtouch 580 doesnt work with my friends internet provider.

    You need to make sure that all the settings are correct in line with your ISP. There are lots of them, not just username and password but VCI, Encapsulation, MRU, MTU and so forth. If in doubt, ask your ISP or someone who knows about routers and uses your ISP. ISPs other than AOL should be approachable about this.
