hello there I am getting ready to put together a new pc. This is my first custom built PC so i will need you help Thanks. So I am gonna use it for my work mostly which is Web/Graphic design, so i am gonna work with PhotoShop A LOT and Dreamweaver. I dont play a lot of games (maybe one??), and just watching vids and listening to music. And i have a budget of about $1,000 for it. I doubt i will need more for my type of PC. So lets start with a CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103244 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103249
*******UPDATE******* What do you think about this MOBO http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128339 or is this one better http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131331 Thanks
Don't use AMDs, the Intels have a lot more raw processing power, which you'll need for programs like Dreamweaver. Start with this CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115042 and this Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128344
would this be fine?? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115037#spec cuz i dont think i need a quad core and i read that this one overclocks to 3.8 easily
I would get the quad core Q6600 for ~$40 more. For Digital Media, and the correct programs that utilize quad cores, they are much better. There is only going to be more and more programs that do as well. I have my Q6600 at 3.4 on Air, so a dual core a 3.8 isn't gonna show that much performance in the long run.
Go with what sammorris said, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128344 I don't know about budget MB's to be honest. For your graphics card, get one 4850 512mb and you will be good. They are at a good part of the price-performance curve. Get a basic DVD writer/the cheapest 500GB Hard drive you can find/ Antec 300 case is good for you, and get a 620 HX modular power supply from corsair.
*******UPDATE********* So far CASE- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129043 CPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115017 MOBO- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128344 comments??
Looks good dude, but you don't need a case that big, and you can save close to ~100 if you get a different one. The case is nice though and if you can get all your supplies and still be under the $1000 mark then your good.
Indeed, the case is unnecessarily expensive, when you can get one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146047
Oh thnx yeah this is better http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146047 How about a PSU would 500W be enough?
Which PSU is better?? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182017 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139004
The Rosewill is a deathtrap. The Corsair VX is probably one of the best power supplies ever made. There couldn't be too more different power supplies. The VX550W will be plenty.
OR if you want less clutter some thing like a 520 or 620HX. I wish I had gotten a 620HX. Would have saved a lot of time doing the cable management in this case. Oh well, it still looks good.
To be fair mate, with one 4850, a 450W VX would have done, or the 520HX if you wanted modular. A 650W TX can power that system twice with ease.
Ok thnx so i think im gonna go wit 620HX if buy something then buy something good right? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139002 and what do you guys think about this case?? I like the look http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811144182 and graphic card?? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121229
