    Hi there,

I bought a new PC with Win XP OS, and it has no audio. There is nothing under Windows Audio and under PCI / PnP Audio I have:

Intel 82801GB ICH7 - High Definition Audio Controller

Do you know how can I fix this problem, or what should I install to make the audio work?

    thanks a lot,

This should get them to work. If not try to install any drivers for the speakers.

Hmm, for some reason the Mother-board CD won't let me install the software for the audio card (and two other things) - I can't check the checkbox. Any clue why this thing happens?

Use the Add Hardware Wizard. What sound card do you have installed?

    I did, but no use.

All it says is AC'97 On-board.

I'm at work atm, but I can try solving it onve I'm back home if you have any ideas.

Check your Bois setup to make sure Audio is turned on.
    Open Device Manager > Sound
    > Right click on Audio Driver [Legacy?] > Select Properties

    Check the status and usage.
    Click on Troubleshoot for help
