So I need some upgrading to my computer. Last time I built my computer, a friend of mine ordered all the parts for me beforehand and we built it together. I'm kinda novice when it comes to ordering these. That's why I'm asking for your help. What I think I need is - more memory - new video card - Better CPU Editing videos with Adobe Premiere is pain in the ass atm, because it laggs like...a lot. I would like to buy another monitor for my computer and be able to do more stuff at once (have more programs running at once). Gaming experience could also be improved, but it's not necessary. So my question is: Should I upgrade something from my computer parts that I have now? OR Should I just build a new one? I'm willing to spend 1000€:ish. How should I use it? upgrade. get a separate videocard as that has it's own memory not shared with the motherboard ram. your motherboard is capable of 64gb of ram. cpu compatibility list http://www.gigabyte.com/Support/GetCpuList/?Value=4745&Type=Product
Thank you for your answer! Should I upgrade my CPU too then, since u gave me that list? And should I upgrade my memory too, buy a new kit? Do I need to upgrade my BIOS for these? Sorry forbeing a total noob with these kind of stuff.
go for new videocard 1st as it will free up shared system ram to see if still lags when editing videos. if still lags then go for new ram so 2x8gb for 16gb. could go for the A10-7890K 4100MHz. check bios version as needs to be at least f5
What ddp says , get the video card first as that will most likely be the reason for the lag that your seeing it will solve issues when playing some games as well,as games usually don't use more than 1 core apparently For video editing this doesn't really require much other than cpu cores as that's what does the processing,well it does for me when encoding & no doubt does for you.tho it would be better if my cpu multi threaded & it appears yours doesn't either.Unless your mobo can multithread i personally think it would be a waste of money to upgrade the cpu as your on a quad already & i highly doubt you'd notice an improvement if the upgraded cpu isn't capable of MT As for the ram you'd nee to check the amount used when stressing the computer as to whether your reaching the amount you already have installed,i've yet to do that as i've found even when encoding & watching a movie on kodi it doesn't go above 4gb in use

Does my computer immediately detect the new videocard and use it or do I have to disable the integrated videocard manually?
yes it overrides the onboard or should do tho some bios's have option to set onboard only which means for mine i switch it to auto once installed and running you need to get the latest driver and software for it to get full functionality,there'll be an installer disc with the card just get the update or bypass the install disc & go straight for the newer versions
before installing the new card, check your motherboard manual or the bios setup to see how the video is setup as in "onboard(igp)", "pci-e" or "auto".
