new proccessor

    I want too upgrade my proccessor in my dell 745c desktop ive goggled it but not too sure what to do can someone please help as i dont want to mess up and get the wrong one thanks.

    i downloaded a program called speccy and ran it and found this sorry not to sure what to do now thanks

    Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 @ 1.86GHz
    Conroe 65nm Technology

    how far up do you to upgrade your cpu as that is a socket 775 cpu which they have stopped making a few years ago?

    just really want to speed the thing up i use photoshop and dreamweaver alot dont really play games on it

    you reckon that will speed it up or would i be better getting a ssd to make it run faster

    if you get the Core 2 Duo E6700 2.67 GHz cpu, it will be equal to a single core 5.34ghz cpu compared to your current which is equal to a single core 3.72ghz cpu. how much ram do you have, what os are you using & which computer is yours in the specs link I posted above?

    i have
    4gb of ram
    operating system is windows 10
    and its the dell 745c mini tower

    if you go with a ssd drive then use for windows only & use your current hd for your programs & data as ssd drives only have so many rewrites compared to regular hard drives.

    So you reckon go with the ssd for operating system only so do you reckon it's not really worth while getting another proccessor then

    the bottle neck is the cpu so that you want to replace. might also upgrade to 8 gigs of ram. are you using onboard video or a videocard & what is it?

    other option is get a new computer.

    Happy with what I've got just now but I think when I get a bit of money ill defo get one.
    Thanks a lot for your help think I'm going to go with a ssd
