New protection for my laptop

    Bought a very cool laptop and I am looking for the progs to download to be sure nothing bad happen.. So far I got Ad-Aware and spybot..

    Anything else I should install and run every week or so?
    I remember there was this lil prog.. AFV or A.. something with 3 letters and Cleaner in the name, was deleting cookies and everything bad from the browser..

    theres more to it than just software so "nothing bad happens"
    knowing how you can get malware and using good judgement is part of the solution also. see my link below

    My recommendation is for you to get the free program "returnil". What it does is it will put your computer into a virtual state, for instance if you will be surfing the internet engage returnil, now everything that happens while you are on the internet is running in system memory and not written to the hard drive. If you get infected with a virus, it'll be isolated from your hard drive. When you reboot your computer anything that happen while you where surfing the internet is gone.

    this is the program to use when your unsure of the sites on the internet or use internet explorer as your browser. I've used it for the past 6 months with no problems. It's my last line of defense.
