Hey guys, I just got a new Kingston PC2700 512MB HyperX ram and I installed it onto my computer. I pressed the power button and it does the usually loud start up fan moving noises, but just stays there. So I see nothing but a black screen. When I take it out my computer starts normally with no problems.

I check my mother board specifications and I know it supports PC2700.
I simply don't know what to do, can anyone of you guys help me out?
Thanks, if im wront please correct me im a noob lol

    Heres my mother board specifications

it might have something to do with the voltages of the ram and motherboard. put in your old stick of ram and try to raise the ram voltage in the bios by small increments and see if that makes any difference.

ooo i now see that you have an hp comp, so ur bios is probably locked, so you wont be able to change the voltages. im sorry, but i dont konw of any other things that might be the prob ( although it mite be a bad stick of ram, but its prob a voltage issue).

is there any other besides changing the voltage that can solve the problem?

some motherboard are very picky over what rams to use,

I strongly recommend Corsair, but you already had Kingston.

Well try stick it in other ram module, play with it.
