Seems like someone is always trying to put an end to sharing Cd's Sony is going a step further than most with new CD copy protection, here's their latest try. You can check it out here http://www.cbronline.com/article_news.asp?guid=198000E5-3E9A-4FA0-8665-2378A70974EF
i'm sure given time, some one some where will eventually make this redundant as well as anything else they bring out
Sony is working with Mr. Bill Gates: According to speculation, the XCP (eXtended Copy Protection) technology contains digital rights management (DRM) capabilities which allow users to burn a limited number of CDs in Microsoft's Windows Media Audio format but bars them from making copies of the copies, a process known as "sterile burning." My Plextor PX-712SA can rip .DocLock, CDS200 so I'm not scared at all because I use EAC or Plex Tools Pro to rip audio. No worries, be happy obviously DON'T use WMP to rip or burn audio cd's.
I cant understand why the big boys like Sony keep coming out with these new encryptions & stuff for music cd's.. how many of us actually go out to a shop & buy cd's nowadays? there are easier & cheaper ways, be it legal or illegal, to get your favourie music.. no one carries a cd player round with them anymore, everyone's got iPods/MP3 players, so they want digital music right?
i find that those IMTOO programs for extracting audio from both cd and dvd quite good as well.Any thing that is hard to rip clone cd5 seems to be able to get around.
