Well if I were you I would try getting these programs to copy a DVD anf they are Anydvd and Clonedvd2. You can get them at

    http://www.slysoft.com/en/

You can also try there trial version for a couple of days but would reccomend buying them.(Best money I invested)

Once you have these programs look under the guides for a step by step process on how to copy your dvd's.

You can also get Shrink which is another program thats free. You can get it through several websites or just look for it in a search engine as Google or Yahoo.
This also has a guide that is very helpful in backing up your dvd's.

I agree with j_torres I would atleast go download the trail version of anydvd install it. which you will end up buying it is the most up to date dvd decrypting program. This program runs in the background. Then download dvdshrink you can find it on this site under downloads in the software tab then go to www.dvdplusvideo.com/tutorial007.html and follow the instructions under shrink/nero hopefully you have nero. If you don't post what you use I will try to help.

here is another good guide go to the top of the page under the guide section go down to Copy entire DVD-9 movie to a single DVD-R using dvdShrink. you will still need anydvd. dvdshrink will not be updated again.Since they will not updated you need anydvd because it is kept update against the new encryption on dvds but anydvd only only opens the disk it can not rip, compress or burn. anydvd decodes it, dvdshrink to rip and compress then nero to burn.
