No, not all new systems are LU64, LEH250 OR LAH113. A friend of mine just bought one and the serial # is LU40.

This one has its own problems though. Backup disc launchers will not work, and I cant get Preloader installed. It also only installs bootmii as an IOS.

What I did get working was Configurable USB loader, and it works great, including all disc images.

If possible I would suggest buying a used Wii as they are much simpler to mod. They allow bootmii to be installed as boot2, preloader can be installed and you can also play off of backup discs or USB loader.

You can also mess around with changing the theme (which I wouldn't do without preloader or boot2).

thanks man, I think I will look on craigslist to get a Wii. My buddy has a Wii that he got when they first came out and I told him I would help him mod it, since I have modded a few systems in the past. How long do you think it would take? I have no experience with the Wii.

depends on how good you are at following Larrys tuts :)

It doesn't take that long as long as everything is done properly, maybe a half an hour or so... but since this is your first i would guess 2-3 hours.
