Hi, I have been getting info off of this site on how to make back up copies....I think I have got everything I need, however after trying to backup our Rv movie I got all the way to the nero part and I cant seem to figure out how to use that prgram to burn the dvd onto the dvd disk. Nero ddi not open on its own and I can find the files with the but I cant seem to find a way to open the files to burn them...if that makes sence. The programs I have used are ripit4me dvd decrypter...dvd fixdvs and dvd shrink...and the trial version of nero 7. Can anyone give me any advice on what I need to do to make this backup and get it onto the dvd? Thanks!
Hi LouisaZ Welcome to aD Here are 2 guides for you - you may need 2 more programs for the 1st but they're free The guide uses dvdfab decrypter/vobblanker/recode (or shrink) http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/334154 The next guide is for Ripit4Me - Shrink & decrypter is what it's geared towards. But using wizard mode after fixvts has done it's thing you could then open the video_ts folder in recode and go from there (see guide above for recode). I have read those links and I did everything step by step that it showed for decrypter and shrink and ripit4me...but after I am all done nero isnt opening up on its own so I opened it but thats where my problem lies I am looking in the folders and I can find the little movie icons but I cant figure out how to burn them to the dvd... So if I do get the dvdfab decrypter and vobblanker/recode do I use those in place of ripit4me and dvd decrypter or along with them?
Ok thanks Blinky, I did use nero recode...got done with everything down to the part where it's time to use nero burning rom to burn the dvd. Here is what I am doing and what is happening-I goto nero burning Rom wasnt sure what to do after I got it opened so here is what I did- went to DVD-ROM(ISO) then I went to open, that brings up the lookin box to find folders-I find my VIDEO_TS folder and click on it then down at the bottem of the burning Rom I click open...once I do that My VIDEO_TS folder disappears out of the box and is only in the lookin box again...but if I right click on the VIDEO_TS folder while is showing in the big white box it will open an show a bunch of little cd icons that way.... but I cant find a way to get it open with the nero burning rom when I find the folder there and click open nothing shows up in the file name box to open. So Now I have the Rv folder with all the icons I just dont know how to open it up with Nero burningrom so that I can burn it.....I am so confused I hope I didnt confuse you also
Nero Recode only makes VTS files, and choosing DVD ISO will not work. Open NBR and choose DVD Video on your compilation screen and then hit new Locate your file, and choose either the Video TS folder or all the files in the folder. Drag them over to your compilation screen from your explorer screen, make sure you burner is choosen in the box and hit the burn button On the burn screen choose the appropriate burn speed, 4 to 8x is best, then hit burn. Or you can use Nero Express choose DVD Video files Add your files
Thank you so very very much....thats all I had to do after 3 days of sitting here trying and trying to burn this back-up. I finally got it done...THANK YOU so much! This was my first time trying to make a backup of our movies and I am not to good on computers and I did it and it's playing and it's sounds and looks fine...thanks again! Louisa
Glad you got it working and playing. If you are using Recode you just need to choose your burner and you will be able to burn automatically after you transcode, no need to sent it to your HDD and then burn manually. Good luck and happy burning
ok, that really helps me too.. one question though... the capacity meter on mine if completely full.. what do I do? It's past 8250MB.. Grey's Anatomy Season 1.. episodes 1-5
@nici Are you planning to burn to a Dual Layer disk, if not you will need to compress that file to fit a Single Layer disk. Suggest you use either DVD Shrink or Nero Recode to compress and then you can burn.
I don't know what a double layer disk is..lol.. sorry... how do I compress it to a single layer with DVD Shrink or Nero... please leave details.. thanks!
