Smartripper is a free d/l (need this to rip/unencrypt to HDD)

DVD2One is an excellent piece of software and worth purchasing in my opinion (http://www.dvd2one.com) OR there's DVD Shrink (free d/l). They both compress a DVD-9 DVD from more than 4.37Gb to 4.36Gb so as to fit on a DVD-R/DVD+R.

    Nero [or other burning prog]

dam man i thought we would be able to do just like a rip and copy thing. So I am going to try the SmartRipper/Nero method and try to actually finnish this Spiderman back-up.

ps. 2 coasters on my belt so far..

ok i just tried to rip the spiderman disk using smartripper (file - select all) and its like 7.3 gb. I now have to do the compression right with dvd2one and then burn with nero?

    thanks

If the film is that big , you wanna just take the movie only in Smartripper boss...

Then you'll find that you've got 5Gb or so to run through DVD2One
    But your getting there m8

    Follow my DVD-9 guide above.

    DVD-9 (Over 4.37Gb...dual layered)

    DVD-5 (Under 4.37Gb)

thanks.. I am getting there. I just got the DVD2One. Going to try it out and then report back. I am going the route this time because i just want to get a feel for the ripping and burning. I will try the Full dvd back-up in the near future.
