Hi, just bought a new top screen for my sons ds original. Fitted it with no problems. But now the picture is very faded. Not as colourfull as its original screen.

Any ideas what this could be please.

A replacement screen is usually of lower quality than the original, so this can be normal. If it's extremely faded, then you may want to notify the vendor. It's possible that you simply have a bad screen. Also, double check that you installed everything correctly and that all the connections are properly secured.

One reason why the LCD screen may be fadey is that it might NOT be genuine. Its most likely a copy LCD screen. The other reason maybe is that you have been sold a used (2nd hand) LCD screen.

Maybe the genuine LCD has some kind of label or code on it, or maybe it says nintendo somewhere. Maybe you need to check it up on the net.

I assumed that he purchased a replacement, such as the one found here. In that case, it is normal for the screen to be slightly faded. If you purchased a genuine replacement screen (I didn't see this as on option at the Nintendo store) then the screen should be the same as the orginal one.
