new Toshiba SD-R5372V - blue screens on Roxio and DVD shrink

    Hi All,

    I hope you all can help. I have just installd my new DVD drive from ebuyer and it reads dvds no problem. When i try to run DVD shrink i get a BSOD referring to CDr4_xp or something, which i believe is the default cd driver that XP is using. I have ECDC6 and that just blue screens with no error code that i can see and restarts, and nero 5 doesnot recognise the drive.
    I tried to find a firmware update but there is none for this drive yet as it is OEM.
    Can anyone suggest how I can get this to work?

    get updates for roxio 6 & nero 5 so can read the drive. should get nero 6 which is better suited for xp

    thanks for the tip - I will get Nero but any idea why dvd shrink5 isn't happy?
