I am new to this dvd burning thing. I recently purchased a dvd-rw burner and am trying to copy my dvd's. I need help with the set-up. I have read about the DVD X COPY program available now but don't want to spend $100 if that is not what I need. Could anyone give me insight as to the best way to copy my dvd's off? Also, I have downloaded some free dvd decoders and such of the net, are any of these needed or can I get them off my harddrive? thx mike
I have read so much about people wanting to burn dvd's, well if you have a dvd burner let me help you a bit and give all of you a great short cut in doing this. First off copying 80% of movies this way will keep it at 4.3 gb or less, use smart ripper and demux the movie file and audio file ONLY, now it should be around or under 4.3 gb then just put it in any dvd authoring software ( I use spruce up ) and just add chapters and that's it,burn it. It's that easy and if it is over 4.3 gb just put it in rempg and bring it down to 4.3 before authoring. If your looking for spruce up you can find it on the net if you look hard enough.
here's an easier, more detailed guide to ripping dual layered dvds. When i first started ripping dvds, i read all the guides but many of them had some vague details, so i create my own dvd-9 to dvd-5 ripping guide, drop me any comments/feedback about teh guide or ripping in general http://www.geocities.com/daseamonkey420 peace seamonkey420
