hey everyone, my friend wants to get a new graphics card but neither of us really know that much about whats good and whats rubbish. he was looking at this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=180275349830&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=008 should i tell him to get it or to stay right away? lol. if it sucks, could someone please recommend a decent one? the budget is around $150 AUS.
It's very slow by modern standards. Firsltly, is the PC definitely compatible with PCI express graphics cards, and does it have a decent PSU? Both are mandatory to have a decent graphics card. Try this: http://www.mtechcomputers.com.au/pr...=3204&osCsid=d5b63d3ea12024d98e3dd9b21a5fbbd5 It's miles better than the 8500.
thanks for the reply. his motherboard is definitely compatible with PCI express cards so there's no problem there. he has a 420 watt thermal master PSU. will this be enough to handle that card?
I've not heard of Thermalmaster. If you mean Thermaltake it could be alright, but it depends which model. a TR2 will be fine, but a PurePower won't. To be on the safe side I would buy either an Antec Earthwatts 380W or Corsair VX 450W.
If I have to buy a new PSU then my overall budget would go down, the PSU is made by CoolerMaster and come in case packages. Do you think it would be very reliable?
