    Hi,

I am moving house and lose my box after a long time. I am looking at getting a new one and getting it hooked up to virgin media. Are there any recommendations on which one to get what my Options are and where to get them from? ( my housemate got the last one.)

    Cheers

This will depend on what V1rg1n M3d1a area you are in:

Ex T313 w3st,N*L,Cab13&W1rel3ss: DVB-C Cable STB is required(Eurovox Max V 2008,Kryptview Arnet, or The Box Super)
    .
Ex Ch*rus(Rooftop Antenna method)Ireland only: DVB-T / MMDS STB is required (The Box-T or Eurovox TX MMDS).

iwantabox.com or wizzard satellite sells them.

    Thanks for the update KMAC.

I am kinda tossing up whether to get sky or virgin media is there some compatibility between the two and the receiver boxes and any recommendations would be welcome.

If you go the sat way the box to look at is the technomate which is a DVB-S STB, but the encryption system S*y uses has not been decrypted, although you will pick up loads of chs from europe etc you will find the chs available here: http://www.ses-astra.com/consumer/uk/channel-guide/Simple-Search-TV/index.php

Personally I would stick to cable service using a DVB-C box (Eurovox,Kryptview Arnet, or Starview)
