Haven't been checkin the scene for a while and was wondering if anybody has found a good way to use your pc to backup your gc games yet. Ripping it over the network takes forever!

It has been disgussed a lot, a only working confirmed way is streaming over network.
And using CloneCD, only few people have been confirmed it.

It's good if you can research a new way ;)

you can do what is called a data stripper now what a data stripper does it reads all cd's no matter the increption on the cd and strips the data to your hard drive in the form of a iso

draw back there is only one dvd burner out there that can support reading a gamecube cd and that is sony's 4x dvd burner so i hope you have 200.00 for one

Put GC disk in pc drive, small edge in drive. Open DVD Decrypter copy iso over, pop in a micro dvd disk burn it, boot with mod chip HO-HO-HO

I use the [bold]gcos-ripper_v1.0r2[/bold] and after a few minutes (sometimes 5 sometimes 30 minutes) the screen shows this message:

    [bold]rei (status: 0000008e![/bold]

    and sometimes (not really often)

    [bold]rx errors, status 000000ff.[/bold]

Does anyone know what this means? I wasn't able to copy one of my 15 games that I've tried... :-(

OK, have change the network card setting from autonegotation to 10mbit half-duplex and now it works perfect.

as for the "rx errors, status 000000ff." :

It seems that after a few MB of Code, the ripper programm give a status message.

"rx errors, status 000000ff." Receiving error or something like this and
"rei (status: 0000008e!" everything is fine.

    Can anyone cofirm this?

my cd rom dirve does not even pick up the disk. its says no disk inserted.

does this mean, that this way does not work on my system, or do i need to change some settings?

    @ boki2002

Gamecube discs are all mini-dvd's, if you only have a cd-rom/burner in your computer, you won't be able to read/write dvd's at all. Make sure your computer has a dvd-rom and/or dvd-burner to read and write dvd's.
