Hi there I am trying to get a new laptop onto our wireless network that is already set up with computers connected. The problem I'm having is that it is finding the network just fine but I just cant connect - The network is scured and ive used the WEP key but no luck. Is there something i need to do to tell the wireless router that I want this new computer to connect ? Any help is very much appreciated ! Thanks
Who set up the router? You can check and see if only specified MAC addresses are allowed to connect. Also, check how many IPs your router is set up to dish out. Are you using the passphrase for WEP, or the generated key? ~Rich
I had this same problem. What I did is just un-secured the network, connected the new laptop, then secured it again with the new comp on the network.
