I have recently bought a XBOX 360 4GB with Kinect and would like to download games in iso format and play them. What is the safest way to do so? I dont understand what modding or lt 3.0 is pls use layman terms. Thanks in advance!!!
umm if you're wanting to get games off the internet (basically free) you would probably go to www.thepiratebay.org where they have thousands of Xbox 360 game torrents for free of course. but they do take quite some time to download but i have looked into this as well and you will need a modded xbox to do this. Check youtube on how to mod an Xbox 360 theirs plenty of videos for that. after that you would have to put the games on a flash drive (8 gb) preferably and then after everything is modded and tweaked right it should work! but when you think about it paying for all the modding the flashdrive and waiting like a day for the game to download. you might as well buy the game but hey its up to you! (btw when you mod an Xbox 360 console it voids the warranty)
Firstly dont talk about piracy on the forum they may ban you if admin read this new thread. Also placing iso's onto a flashdrive will not work.Only system updates, saves, dlc and at present any external xbox360 compatable flash drive can only be used up to 16gig.Iso's if they ever worked on a flashdrive come in at over 8 gig.Now shamur85 judging by the 4gig kinect setup sounds as if you have a xbox slim. You really need to explain in a little more depth what sort of xbox,pc setup,os etc so someone can help you further. If your xbox is still under warrenty i would advise you not to opening it up if this is your first time. Some xbox slims require more expensive and complicated procedures to flash as not all dvd drives inside the consoles are the same. Not to sound as if im putting you off too much you need several pieces of kit to firstly open, flash, burn and play your first backup. This also comes on top of a possible ban if you decide to use xbox live.I flash/repair consoles as a side business and always make sure customers know the implications before i procede. Why should this forum be any different. This is a link to someone else i helped with flashing. Some of the internal links wont be helpful in your case as it was for a particular problem, but it does have the jungleflasher tutorial, all the kit needed and a little more insight to what you need to know. http://forums.afterdawn.com/t.cfm/f-152/can_i_flash_my_benq_drive_with_my_lite_on_360-934762/ .Personally i would read the jungleflasher tutorial which you can download from one of the links and read through adobe reader. The flowchart within will tell you what drive you have and if it can be unlocked and written to for flashing. If you wanted to get your hands dirty and still wanted to buy all the kit to flash a console, then why not get yourself a second hand "phat" console. These consoles nowdays are rarely under warrenty anymore and are great for practice flashing.Let me know what direction you want to go so i can assist further.
Very wrong to speak of this subject here. Depends on the source of the torrent, amount of seeders and your connection's speed when "aquiring a backup". 2-3 hours is not a long time. Other sources are even faster than that. This is true. You need a modded console to play backups. Or check here on AfterDawn or over at EMS to see how to do it correctly. Incorrect. New ISOs won't even fit on an 8GB flash drive. You need to burn the ISO in order to play it on a flashed 360, or you need structured folders to play it on a JTAG/RGH 360, but the ISOs can be used on an ODD 360. Again, check this site, or EMS, NOT youtube. Perspective is everything. The cost of the equipment is less than the price of 2 new games. You do the math. This is true.
I believe eebeejay was analyzing DerekBloxom's post, and making the appropriate corrections. eebeejay knows his stuff! I'm sure you do as well, richietea. I don't believe he was directing anything towards you.
Thanx for the suggestions guys... I think i'll keep my warranty intact, and shell out some extra money for the games!!!
I wouldn't damn youtube totally, if you halfway know what you're doing there are some nice tutorial videos, for example on how to rgh without having to cut or solder on a phat liteon drive.
