It's probably the movie your doing - my quess is that you receive this error when trying to back up a movie? If that's the case and w/o the complete error message or movie - I'd say try ripping w/ dvdfab decrypter 1st then process the files thru shrink. The are quite a few movies now that shrink can't handle on it own. Here's a link for dvfab decrypter:

What movie are your doing? Since you said dvdfab worked fine my quess is that you ripped it to your hard drive w/ that and receive the error in shrink trying to process those files?
Make sure you have the latest dvdfab decrypter (2.9.7.2) or AnyDVD (5.941). But if ripping w/ dvdfab decrypter turn off anydvd - not needed.

You could try the VOB Blanker method as it will take care of that invalid memory location thing. Rip to HD without anydvd and run the files thru VOB blanker, then open files as normal with shrink or recode. VOB blanker looks difficult, but it is easy to use. Here is a thread where we show how to use it.

Try backing up the movie only, without the menus or special features.

Go to "my computet", rightclick on C: drive/HDD, go to properties and tell us how much "available" space is in your C: drive/HDD.

You seem to have plenty of space for the files. Do you have all your DVD ripping tools on the same partition? If you do, and getting errors, Im sorry but I dont know whats up. I have never had any problems. If they are on different partitions try reinstalling them in the same partition, although that may not matter. Im just trying to give options.

I have a tip for you though once you get up and running again.
Use DVD43 or AnyDVD and Shrink only and your favorite recording program (Nero, DVD Decrypter...)
    Insert protected DVD.
Make sure DVD43 or AnyDVD detected the protection then open shrink and tell shrink to open the protected DVD, compress as normally, and burn.

Saves a 15-20 minute step. No need to decrypt files 1st. DVD43 and AnyDVD decrypts then burns all in the same step. Or something like that. Anyways I can back up the average size DVD from beginning to end in about 45 mins. with 2.70 GHz processor

How exactly did you copy with clone? AnyDVD running in the background w/ original dvd in drive? Or did you open the files in clone ripped by fab decrypter? What blank dvd's are you using and what was your burn speed in clonedvd? Last question I think:) - Does it playback in your pc?

Using the guides - step by step - posted above your should be able to to rip and burn these movies. But then your said it still gives you errors - what part gave you errors and what was the error? I'm having a hard time following.
Also try cleaning off the discs and make sure you are not multi tasking - shut down any unnecessary programs. Throw in a system defrag too.

    AH-HA. Finally some useful info.
You can only use the VIDEO_TS folder not the AUDIO_TS.

Tell DVD Shrink to load the VIDEO_TS folder, then compress as normal and back up.
