BTW. All the methods mentioned in this thread works, but you have to do it right.

Im not bustin your balls, just letting you know that they all should work if you want to experiment different methods to find the way that suits you best.

Happy burning to you, and dont forget to help other newbs find their way. This forum has been a huge help for me as I am a newb to this field, but thanks to all the support I recieved here I am quit advanced after only a month of backing up.

Did you run the files thru vobblanker as the guide listed? If so this is the video_ts folder you need to run thru shrink or recode not the one from dvdfab decrypter. If not then go back to the guide - do those steps & then process that folder from vobblanker. When you're ripping w/ fab decrypter make sure Anydvd is off.
Also while you are doing this - do nothing else - shut everything down any unnecessary process.
I had no problems with these movies. You may have some bad discs but if your are able to rip them w/ fab decrypter - vobblanker will 'fix' any problems - my experience at least.
Oh and Memorex is iffy at best and that's being nice. In store look for verbatim or Made in Japan Fuji or Sony. If you get to the burn stage make sure you are not burning at max speed.
    Good luck!

OK. Im gonna try and give step-by-step instructions.

    (1) Make sure you have at least DVD43, DVD Shrink, and Nero or
    DVD Decrypter installed.
    (2) Make a folder on your desktop and call it latestBurn
    (3) Insert your protected DVD into a DVD-ROM drive, and put a
    blankDVD-R or DVD+R into your DVD/RW drive.
    (4) Make sure that the yellow smiley icon from DVD43 is now green
before going to the next step.
    (5) Open DVD Shrink
    (6) Click "Open Disk".
    (7) A dialog box should open with the title of your protected DVD
as the default selection. Click "OK".
    (8) As it is loading into Shrink make sure that the status
    says "Not Encrypted".
    (9) After loading is complete, compress as you normally would. (if
you are new to this you should use automatic compression)
    (10) Click "back up".
    (11) If you are using Nero to burn mkae sure the "Select back up
target" drop-down list shows your DVD/RW drive. If you are
using DVD Decrypter to burn make sure the "Select back up
target" drop-down list shows "ISO image file and burn with DVD
    Decrypter".
    (12) Then click the "Browse" button and navagate to the desktop
folder you created in step 2.
    (13) Click "OK".
    (14) Go to lunch or get some booty (do both if your quick) and come
back in 45-75 mins and test your back up.

It would be a good idea to install DVD Decrypter because it can burn just like nero and it can find protection that may have

slipped by using other decrypting programs, plus it can create back ups by creating an ISO image (simply another way to back up).

There are many different ways to back up DVDs. Find the way that works best for you and stick with it unless you find a faster way through experiments. Im a newb, and when I started out I was using DVD Fab Decrypter to decrypt then Shrink and Nero to complete the process, taking about 1.5 hrs, but thanks to these forums and all the help from members I now use the above method and complete the process in under an hour, usually about 45 mins.

I hope you get it this time dude. Good Luck to ya.

    See ya aroud the boards.

PS. If you dont care about having a menu (play button, scene selectinn, etc.) on your back ups I would recomend using the
"re-author" option in DVD Shrink. You will get 100% on your compression level (best quality) on any 2hr DVD you decide to
    back up.

No. That wont matter. Just have to do things a bit differently.
Just insert protected DVD and proceed with the steps, but after the encoding process you will have to take out the protected DVD and insert the blank then continue.

You will probably get a prompt after the encoding telling you to insert blank DVD.

AnyDVD and DVD43 do not play well together. DVD43 also doesn't play well w/ dvdfab decrypter and can cause problems w/ dvd decrypter.
Do not have both running. Anydvd may not be free but it is the better of the 2 and stays on top of all the new copy protections.
