    Is this possible to do with a modded xbox,
    Using linux on it download media (eg a film) from the internet and then view it using your xbox. Can you download stuff to your xbox hard drive and then watch it using your xbox?
    Cus i'm thinking of using my xbox as a media centre thing, and didn't know if linux can be fully working.

    he wasn't asking for files or anythin he was just asking if it were possible to do so.. now if he was asking how to do it that would be another thing lol noone on this forum would tell him how to do this if it involved priacy alhtough i never thought of the concept hmmm.

    Yer i don't want to know anything illegal about warz etc, i just was wondering if the linux versions available on the xbox are fully fuctional ie: can you use apps like bittorrent etc to download stuff to the xbox and view them in linux. Can you use it just like a normal linux pc, or can you only "browse" the web and not be able to do other web based things ie filesharing.

    On a modded xbox you can run apps like media players and emulators but you can not download things dircetly to it. YOu can FTP to it over a network with your PC and stream to it. Xbox media center is a wonderful app. I have converted my entrie DVD libary to xvid files and stream them over my network to my xbox wirelessly. It's great!

    Perhaps there will be a fully functional linux version for the xbox one day then. Shame you carn't download stuff of the internet straight to it.

    Once you get it modded it is amazing the fun you have. I had a shuttle XPC that I used as a multimedia PC but like any PC there were issues. My xbox running a xecuter 2.2 lite with an WD 60 GB HDD and I run CCXSTREAM is so stable and easy to use. Read more at www.xbox-scene.com it is reallly cool!
