I'm relatively new to Nero and related software use, so please bear with me. I received (bundled) Nero Express with a CD/DVD R/RW drive recently. I have not been able to burn certain files with this Nero version (5.5.10.6) so I thought it was so obsolete it might need updating, went to the Nero site and see that the only update there for Nero (5?) was a version 5.5.10.56. That does not seem like a good update since the suffix digit is lower than the .6 version I have, although the release date is 2004 compared to the 2002 date I have. Is the .56 version an actual update to this old, .6 unsupported Nero application? And so is it advisable to update with .56? What I want to do with this software is burn all types of CD's & DVD's including on and off line (internet) video and movies. Is that possible? If it's advisable to keep this old .6 Nero and upgrade to .56 how will this Nero compare with current version(s) for what I want to do? Any thoughts, advice, comments, observations?
Thanks Rotary, I know v 5 (5.5.10.6) is old and discontinued. But it's something for me to work with at this time as a beginner IF it can do the basic stuff I want. But if not I wanted to know how it compares with the latest (8?). In any case I don't think I need really fancy (or bloated) software. As long as I have your (anyones) attention can I ask if ANY version of Nero can burn video including internet movies on free tv sites like americafree TV or beelinetv, assuming those can be downloaded in the first place, and then (I assume) converted to a usable file format?
I have used version 5.5.56 and i have burned dvds and cds it is an old program but it can be used as a learning tool when you are ready you can update to version 7 or 8 i use version 7
