newbie converter question

    i just bought an mp3 discman and i was wandering whether it was possible and how to convert file such as wav,wma,mid etc to mp3 files please help me

    or just use google and pick the first choise like i did :)

    edit: and, by the way, i really think cd-da extractor to be a fine piece of software. that site had links to it and other programs as well. it wasn't the home page for the MP3 converter.

    Easy CD-DA is a fine application. You can download it from: http://cd-rw.org/software/audio_software/cd-da_extractors/easy_cdda_extractor.cfm

    Easy also supports the so called LAME presets, but they are slightly "hidden" in the software. Scroll to the very bottom of the LAME settings pulldown menu and you shall fined the tuned "Standard", "Extreme" etc. settings. These are the settings that should be prefferd, instead of if the other Easy CD-DA LAME configurations or manual tweaking.
