newbie desperately trying to work out why i can't do backups of my dvd's

    I purchased an iomega dual dvd drive and it works great for my home movies, but i also want to make backup copies of my movie dvd collection, but as soon as i try to do this a message comes up saying dvd is copyrighted, surely someone must know a way around this, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
