What game are you using? What is the SLUS code from it? Have you double-checked the TITLE.DB on the disc you created? You probably installed it right, but your TITLE.DB isn't correct with the SLUS on the game you are using. Meaning you must do everything again from scratch. Basically if your TITLE.DB isn't right you can install it, but it will never work. Make sure you do these directions below when you start over:

2.You have to make a TITLE.DB (disregard the one from KeyLauncher). Before you do anything, let's grab the SLUS number off your Playstation One game. I am using Asteroids.(CREDIT FOR THIS GOES TO AzNPuLSe)
    A. grab the PSX disc that you'll be using to boot your exploits with.
    B. goto My Computer and right click on the cd-rom drive that the PSX Disc is in and click on Open.
    C. this should open up all the contents of the disc. Once your in there, copy and paste the filename "SYSTEM" from the psx disc to your desktop.
    D. run the notepad application and select Open from the File menu.
    E. select All File Types and open the filename "SYSTEM" that you you copied to your desktop.
    F. the first line is the only information you need. it should be something close to this. BOOT=cdrom:\SLUS_007.73;1 All you need is the SLUS_007.73 part of that line. Yours should be different, assuming that your not using the same game as me.
    G. Write that CODE (SLUS_007.73) down and you should be finished with the this first part. =)

    3. Now that you have the SLUS # let's create your TITLE.DB file (CREDIT FOR THIS GOES TO AzNPuLSe)

    A. Open the mcexploit2 you downloaded from above
    B. extract it to C:\MC (since it's easier when using Command Prompt)
    C. goto the start menu and click run...
    D. type in cmd and click ok
    E. the Command Prompt should open and enter the command "cd c:\mc" (without quotations) and hit enter.
    F. now type in "titleman -a {the code you wrote down}" (dont type the quote or brackets.)
    example: titleman -a SLUS_007.73
    G. hit enter and it will scroll a bit of information and at the end it should say "Adding 'SLUS_007.73' to TITLE.DB...done." or close to what you put down as your code. Now your finished with that. Good job!

Hi. I'm new to this and as I was reading each and every post, an idea came to mind, can I just use the usb pen drive that comes with the Action Replay Max Evo to install all those elf files without going through the ps2? I was wondering if I can drag and drop the elf files and place them into the usb pen drive. Now I would follow steps 1-4, 8-13 and skipping steps 5-7. Do you guys think this will work? Thanks for any reply.

i got the exploit to install successfully on my memory card but when i put in my ps1 game in it goes to a blank white screen and does nothing else.
i followed your guide and also looked at l-burna's guide.
i have made 3 different exploit discs. the 1st one installed but the trigger game didnt work, and the 2nd and 3rd both result in a blank white screen after installation.

Where are you putting the dummy file? Are you creating a folder called dummy and then placing it in the folder? If not, you need to make sure it's in a folder called Dummy

I've burned a few times now, but I keep getting ERROR: Failed to write destination file: HDLOADER.ELF

I've tried redownloading everything and doing it from scratch and it still throws an ERROR at HDLOADER.ELF

vonoven, is there a new version of ps2-keylauncher anywhere? I was getting hdloader.elf failed to laod everytime but downloaded a different one and it seemed to work, however, now mcloader.elf has failed. I'm wondering if these files are corrupt somehow?

abara, you can do this, make sure the DUMMY directory isn't inside the FILES directory. Make sure you click on the CDGENPS2 icon that's above the FILES folder, then click NEW FOLDER button. Make sure its CDGENPS2 then FILES then DUMMY from top to bottom.

After following a few guides that didn't work for me, I got the exploit working on my unmodded PAL PS2 using this guide! Tremendous!

I added execftps and fap_svr to the files I copied over. I used a HDADVANCE 2.1 PAL disc and the swap trick to copy the exploit CDR to the hard drive and ran it from there. I have one main question and a few smaller ones I hope people can help me with.

Big question: FlashFXP can show my memory card files when execftps is running, but has an error when transferring files in, leaving them on the card but with a 0kb size, despite there being plenty of room on the card. Mac OS X ftp clients like Fetch and Transmit connect to the PS2, but won't show any drives or files at all. Why is this?

    Little questions:
    - in following the guide I wasn't sure if I was installing some apps that wouldn't work on my PAL PS2. If anyone has advice on which ones will work and which won't, please let me know :)
    - If I launch the HDADVANCE.ELF from keylauncher, will that be an alternative way of accessing my stored games instead of using my HDADVANCE 2.1 PAL discs (that is, will there be a version incompatibility or PAL/NTSC conflict with the games I've already copied using the 2.1 disc?).
    - I am assuming hdl_dumb and winhiip don't work on Windows 98. Are there alternatives other than FAP?
    - Any comments from Mac users on techniques and software for connecting/transferring/etc between Mac and PS2 would be great.

    Regards,
    Broaddd

    Hi
What is the point of putting game saves onto your hard drive if you can't use them, can you 'recycle' them from hard drive to MC so if I want the GTA save but it is on my hard drive can I send it back to my memory card and use that game save.
