I'm looking to pick up a M3 (SD Version) and PassCard 3 for my fatty DS and have a few questions. Basically, I'm looking to cut down on the number of carts I have to carry around with me. Any help would be appreciated. http://www.consolesource.com/ecomm/customer/product.php?productid=2439&cat=191&page=1 1.) I'm wondering if I can use it to backup my original NDS carts onto a SD card/my PC and use them much the same way I did with the Flash2Advance cart on my GBA, or if I'd need some other piece of hardware as well. 2.) Along the lines of question 1, am I able to put multiple games once I've backed them up onto the SD card and select them via a menu with the M3/PassCard option, or is the extra space on the SD card only useful for large files such as movies? 3.) Is a PC media reader required, or is the cart able to be programmed via a cable? (again like the Flash2Advance cart) 4.) Does anyone know if the M3/PassCard 3 combo includes a SD card, and if so, what size is it? 5.) The ad says it supports emulation (which is another key reason I want to get one) - just checking to make sure that's accurate. Finally, 6.) I noted in a few posts that I should avoid slower SD cards, other than by brand, is there a specific speed/brand I should be looking for?
i can take care of a few of these 1) can't help you here.. no idea if it can be used to back up your original carts. you can backup your saves.. not sure about the cart itself 2) you can store multiple games.. its got a menu system so you can select which games you want to play, etc. 3) pretty sure you need a media reader.. you can get an SD/CF reader for something like $5 at a local electronics store 4) it does *not* come with an SD card from the manufacturer.. if it did come with one its probably one of those deals you can find at a certain retailer 5) it does support emulation. I believe it can run NES, SNES, GB, GBC and a few others right out of the box 6) I had asked a similar question earlier.. and was told anything over 40-50x should be OK
1) I think it can be done by using Rein. Problem is, Rein is only available in Chinese... 2) Yes. 3) You'll need a card reader and the M3 doesn't come with one. 4) By default, it shouldn't. However, some websites have bundles that do include one. 5) Yup. It even comes with a few emulators built right into it. 6) A-data, Kingston, and RiDATA should all work well. Those are just the ones that come to mind, I'm sure there are others that work just as well.
