I've been backing up single layer DVD's for some time now without any problems, but now I'm going to do my backups on DVD 9 dual layer discs. My burner is a Sony DRU 810 and I have a 25 pack of Ridata discs ordered. I've been reading that the best way to burn these is to use DVD Decrypter with AnyDVD in the background, then use ImgBurn to burn the disc. I don't have AnyDVD and was wondering if I could use DVD Decrypter(or DVD Fab Decryper), then use VOB Blanker, then burn with ImgBurn. Any help is appreciated....
Your gonna have to compress the video. Does ImgBurn compress video? Personally I use DVDFab Decrypter, VOB BLanker (If needed), DVD Shrink then burn with whatever you want. Doing a DVD-9 vs. a DVD-5 just means you need to compress the video to fit onto a DVD-5. All the programs above are free. Hope this helps a bit.
I think that you may have misunderstood my question. My current backing up method is to back up onto a single layer DVD, but now I will be burning to a dual layer DVD, so I don't think that I'll need to compress the video. My question was can I use the following method-DVD Decrypter(or DVD Fab Decrypter)/VOB Blanker/Img Burn to rip and burn the disc. Someone replied yes to my initial post so I'm gonna give it a go when the discs arrive. Also, I ordered dual layer DVD-R instead of the +R, so will that make a difference???
