I Use nero 5.0.3.5 (a bit old now) but works a treat. It is easy to use and has a "Drag + Drop" facility for easy vcd creation. Support for IDE burners is very good, not sure about SCSI.

Not Sure, but I Doubt it (not that are up to much anyway) I've opted for the full cracked version but, depending on your honesty, a free 30 day download used to be available from the ahead website, or check grokster / morpheus for cracked ver.

Are you using the wizard and selecting video CD?
If so are you using cdr's or cdrw's?

Sounds like it may be a hardware conflict between nero and your burner??

I'm not using the "Cd Wizard" and i think there is a conflict. The mediums are Maxell 80 min/ 700mb CD-R's. Any new ideas????

First thing to do is make sure you have all updates and patches from Nero.

And then try different brands of CD's

There are Freeware vcd/svcd burning programs that i feel are better than Nero, like VCDEasy which unlike Nero supports chapters, and another one that is great but not freeware but is free if you know were to look is "ulead dvd plugin" which supports chapters and menues and titles...
