    Excuse my ignorance ...

I have a DVD of a friend's wedding. It plays fine on my computer, but the DVD player will not recognize the video.

The files on the disk are .VOB .VUP and .IFO files. I just recently bought a DVD burner. How can I transfer this video to a format the DVD player will recognize?

    Thanks!

there is a chance that your standalone does not like the media that the wedding is burned on....do you know the model type of dvd player you have? the files on the dvd are ones you'll find on any mainstream dvd movie, so i doubt its the actual dvd files seeing that it does play on your computer. some standalone dvd players can't read +r or -r dvd burnt discs however this is a rareity nowadays.

I would suggest the problem lies with your standalone. A lot of them won't be able to read copies. Check into Videohelp.com, search for your player's model, and see if it can read those copies.

It's common around AD to say that the 'el chippo' players are the best to read copies.
