Newbie needs help!

    I have a DVD player/burner I can burn small .avi files to make a vcd.but when I try to burn a dvd(-R) with my burner,EG; A 700mb. file that I have downloaded and stored on my hard disk .the burner states that either the drive is not ready or the the disk is not ready-I don,t understand this at all

    Hi there,

    Have you ever burned something succesfully with this drive ?

    Download VSO Inspector v1.1 --> http://www.vso-software.fr/

    Insert a media in your drive, and start VSO Inspector.

    You will see what burner you have, what firmware you have
    and the information on your media.

    What's the media code ?

    Does your burner support DVD-R or it burns DVD+R only ?

    If you save the report (Click on the little floppy disk on the top right) post it here.

    We can help you find the latest firmware for your drive if it's lot up to date etc...

    700mb will fit onto a cd that is why ur computer wont recognise ur disk it is looking for a cd not dvd convert to file using dvd santa then burn to dvd
