Hey guys I followed your guide for DVDshrink and nero, first one turned out awsome. The second and third cut the end of the movie off. So I went back and went through everything again and I noticed that DVD shrink was saving the correct amount of MB's to my folder but when I open it up in nero substantially less shows up on the blue graph at the bottom. I can view every thing in editing but it will only burn the amount showing on the graph. what can do to correct this? Oh, its nero 7.0 Appreciate any help!
OK, I'm updated now and still have the same problem on some DVD's I can pretty much tell which ones will cut off the end before I burn by the blue graph at the bottom but why can you edit the full length but it will only burn part?
Use DVD Shrink to create an ISO file. Burn the ISO to disc with ImgBurn (a free program). You will not have the problems. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/imgburn.cfm
Dude,............I just tried that ImgBurn! That thing is awsome! Burned twice as fast, no problems, got the hole thing and it automatically put my chapters in! Wish I had downloaded that thing before I spent all those $$$. A thousand "thank you's" to you! Rod
Your welcome. Nero still has it place for other uses. You should keep your burn speed down to half the rated speed of the disc to insure quality burns. And use quality media such as TY, Verbatim, Sony (MIJ) and Fuji (MIJ). Happy burning!
I've been using Maxell, are they any good? If not I may have to shop around to find the other brand. (small towns) I'll slow the speed a bit, I burned the first two fast and then watched them, they seemed fine but I may have just been lucky. Thanks again! Rod
Maxell, like all big companies, out source the manufacture of their discs. If your buying them in a local store, it's really a crap shoot if they are the good ones or not. I can tell if you give me the ID of the disc. The brands of discs that most regulars here at AfterDawn will recommend are: TY, Verbatim, Sony (MIJ) and Fuji (MIJ). If you want high quality discs (without having to hunt), go with the first two I mentioned. Verbatim is sold in local stores. To get TY (which are the very best, IMHO) you'll have to mail order them over the web, but beware of fakes! Do NOT buy TY's from EBay! Buy from reliable stores such as Rima, SuperMediaStore, or MeritLine.
