I just received my PSP Phat I bought on ebay. It has firmware 3.73 and from my reading this isn't good as I can't just downgrade it like you have in the past. I see I need to buy a second battery and convert it into a Pandora battery and also turn a memory stick into a memory stick. I have a memory stick but only one battery. Ok now for my questions: 1. Is there a downgrader being worked on for 3.73 so we won't need a Pandora battery soon? 2. If 3.73 will always need a Pandora battery to downgrade, once downgraded will the Pandora battery be needed again or is it just needed that one time? If the answer to question two is I only need it for the inital downgrade I would hate to buy another battery for just a one time thing. I would be willing to ship my new baby and a memorycard to someone with a Pandora battery who could downgrade it for me and make me a magic memory stick and upgrade it to the latest modified firmware so I can play homebrew. I would pay both ways. Anyone be able to do that for me?
there is no downgrader and you will only need pandora's battery again if you brick your psp ,then you will need pandora's batery to recover the psp you can do everything with your psp without buying a new battery but you need to hardmod your battery you need to solder one wire http://www.psp-hacks.com/2007/10/22/one-wire-pandora-battery-no-software-required/#comments to create the magic memory stick see this guide http://my.afterdawn.com/larrylje_redwings/blog_entry.cfm/2501 if you decide to buy a new battery buy a datel tool battery http://www.consoleshop.com/product.php?productid=17108&partner=googlebase&bid=3
$35 for a new battery or rip mine apart and solder a wire. How much are soldering irons anyway? Could anyone here with a Pandora battery just set mine up for me? I might buy a Datel in the future but now I would just be happy to have someone else do the hardwork for me.
