I'm also very new to the PSP firmware scene. I have an original psp-1001 (fat) and just updated to the new 5.0 firmware. I wanted to know if there is any alternative to the pandora battery solution to be able to downgrade to a firmware where I can play downloaded cso files from the memstick.

Thanks and sorry for the newbness.

Fortunately with the slim it's easyer to make a pandora. Anyways first you download slim pandora for pc. It should be an exe file. Now go to make battery, than make memory stick. That should be it

    OK guys.

I have a fat PSP. The System Software is 3.52. This was updated from a PSP game.

What would I need to do to get this flashed? Would I have to use the Pandora Battery, or is there software for it?

    Many thanks

Like one of my friends said a LONG time ago,"There will be a 3.52 OFW downgrader when hell freezes over" and partly, he was right. But thanks to a little present from DaX, it's basically a firmware M33 Converter. Phat PSP... Yes pandora... Slim... No pandora, kinda just to sum it up

Ok, I've gotten all this and still have a problem. Checked out videos and sites for a week to make all I needed.

I hardwired a pandora battery. I downloaded and used Pandora Universal Downgrader/Easy Installer to make a MMS and put them into my FAT PsP 1001 OFW 3.90(mms 1st then pandora batt.)

It went to cmd screen and I hit x to install 3.71m33. It said ok on all the loading and copying of files then said to hit x to turn off and reset.

I then took out pandora battery and used adapter (sry, no spare battery) to turn it back on. The sony label comes up, then it goes to the Psp mainscreen with just the date 1/1 and the current military time on. Nothing else is visible or useable and it turns back off in like less than 1 minute.

I used XP 64 to make the mms but being that everything went ok with reboot on psp, What did I do wrong and how can I fix it?

I hope this thread is still kickin, and I hope you guys can help me out. I bought a PSP Phat a few days ago, it's awesome, a friend hacked it for me like 5 minutes after I got it. He used Pandora's Battery and a MMS, and it was thusly hacked. So, I bought a 2GB temporarily just to try some things out, and here's what happened:
I have CFW 3.71 M33-4, PSP iso's were fully functional.
PSX games that I had downloaded (already in .PBP format) do not work
    CPS2 doesn't work
    Snes9x doesn't work
    Videos work

So yea. Pretty much any emulator I've tried as well as any PSX game, won't work. It sucks. I've tried putting them all in GAME, GAME150, GAME3XX, and then when i updated the CFW to 5.00 M33-6, still they won't work. PSX games show up as corrupted data, emulators will start, then black screen, then return to main menu saying "this game cannot start (80020148). So then I downgraded back to 3.71, with the 1.5 kernel addon and still nothing. Then I reupped, back to 5.00 with the 1.5 addon and still nothing. What am I doing wrong here guys? It just won't work.
