Nice Wal Mart deal for recently ban hammered people

I don't know if people do this but I thought this might be helpful. I didn't get banned but I found this nice deal at Wal Mart for an Arcade console with a $100 gift card if any of you are looking for a new cheap Xbox.

That's true. It wouldn't be too hard to slap an older drive in there though, right?

 

The problem isn't the flashing of the drive, as I understand it. The problem is pulling the drive key at all. Without the drive key, no go on flashing new firmware, even to another drive =\

 

Is this deal still going on? The link says 200 now . My consoles not banned but it would be nice to get a backup

If it is unhackable, how can you put a old drive in?

 

You could hack it using BIONIC POWERS.

Though some of the new Lite-ON's are hackable. It's very random. If you don't like relying on luck I don't recommend trying to go for one until someone figures out how to dump them.

I got a new elite with a July Lite-ON that was unhackable, and returned it for a September Lite-ON that was hackable. So it seems to be random. M$ is just effing with our minds.

 

I've only flashed one console (my own right after wave 3), it all sort of flew out of my head. I've been meaning to refresh my memory for 1.61, but lite-ons aren't supported yet.

 

Should I just go get one, because I plan on modding my 360. I know we can't say for sure, but what are the chances of the 93450c and the 83850c being hacked?

 

There's an article on IGN about this. Apparently you can't use the gift card for the xbox. Still it's a good deal.

Well yea obviously, thats how all stores work with gift cards. Otherwise they might as well just say Xbox for $100.

 

Whats this talk of Liteon being unhackable. i flashed both liteon....there are only 2 diff modems right? one that requires probe which is easy to flash and the one that doesnt need probe which seems easier to flash. i only flashed one of the newer ones but didnt have any problems

 

4 versions stealthdf....the 7xxx series that needs the probe, the 8xxx that can be flashed, the 8xxx that cant be flashed, and the 9xxx that cant be flashed.

 

ah ok well damn im out of the loop more than i thought. you say 8xxx and 8xxx that can and catn be. is there a way to tell when looking at a 8xxx model or do you just have to try and see if it works?

 

There are actually 4 variants out there.

74850C and 83850c pre AUG 2009 can be modded.

83850c in and after AUG 2009 and 93450c can not be modded.

 

have to try and see. but if its an august or later drive, its more than likely unflashable.

 

ok well guess i got lucky,someone broguht me a new eleite straight from the store like 2 weeks ago and i used the newer tutorial leerage made for the 8XXX and it works perfect. thanks for the info. i need to start comming here more often again

 

Yeah my brother bought an Arcade a few weeks back and it had a 74850C in it. So it really depends on if the store has old or new stock.

 

yea, im planning on getting an arcade at wal-mart this weekend...hopefully it will be an older LO or flashable LO. its a small wal-mart so i have a good chance.
