I still havent found info on it. Is there a way at all to play N64 games/and burn them to dvd's and put them on my modded full case gamecube? If so, can I do it to every nintendo 64 game made? And how does the controller work or how does the gamecube detect which buttons do wich?

They don't work well enough to bother playing, since you can't save and only a small percentage of games actually work well if at all.

Play them on an Xbox or PC instead, since compatibility is much higher and support is far more widespread.

Oh shucks. Is there such thing as an N64 Wireless controller? I need them so badly, wires are the past. I thought I remember seeing one one time.

Yeah, Nintendo 64 on Gamecube = not a good idea.

You should really just buy an Xbox at a pawn shop or something and then supe it up. Xbox is so much easier to rig up than Gamecube, and you can do so much more with it. I'm not a microsoft fanboy, but I have an xbox just out of sheer conveniance.

You can add a buttload of n64 roms and load them directly onto the system. Its insane! I have about 30 or 40 n64 games loaded onto it and it works pretty well. (better than even my PC)...

You can also load SNES, NES, GBA GBC (if you are really that crazy) and an entire myriad of systems.

But back to the subject, the n64 controls on the xbox are alright... a little funky but alright :p If you have 150$ to spare, you could buy an xbox and then load it full of retro-rom-games. And by full, I mean every game that ever existed for every console system before and including the n64. You would also need a 300gb hd too tho.

Ok so what are my steps I should take? Get an XBOX 360 modded? Then what?

Get an Xbox modded, not a Xbox 360. While it's that Xbox 360 can be modified to boot back-ups, it still can't boot unsigned code, meaning no homebrew.

So get an Xbox, mod it, and load all the emulators you want. It can't play some MAME games though, since it doesn't have enough RAM.

Oh ok. So the 360, you can play backups on it and it can be modded (once it will be in the future) You just wont be able to do homebrew? Correct? I don't even use homebrew on my modded ps2 or gamecube, what is that?

There is nothing out to play backups on the 360. That guy needs to put the crack pipe down

There is nothing publicly released for back-ups, but there are multiple groups following in TheSpecialist's footsteps to create a hacked firmware, flasher, and connector for the Xbox 360's optical.

You obviously haven't been keeping up with Xbox-Scene.

Hell, it's all over Team Xecuter's homepage. There's even a video of it in action.

o_O You really are behind, aren't you? There's a video of a Project Gotham Racing 3 back-up booting on an Xbox 360 with hacked firmware. It's on the front page of Team Xecuter's website, which is why I linked it in the first place.

In essence, the Xbox 360 has already been hacked, and there are technical specs on how to do it already released. Problem is, none of it can be done by the average consumer, and it involves actual reading and writing to the optical drive's firmware, which presents the risk of "bricking" the Xbox 360. TheSpecialist won't release the firmware he and his team produced, so everyone else is just trying to catch up with him and release a user friendly version of it themselves.

Oh, and here's a link of how it's done.

i recently got my hands on a Star_fox_64.iso file, that seems to be made for the GC (its size is 1.35GB like all the others). and i was wondering, is there anything special i have to do to play it on my gamecube?

Yeah. Good question. Do we just burn it with Nero as usual like with a normal Gamecube iso? And do we just guess on what we do for the controls? Shadow82 thanks for the big list. Why dont the ones that dont work...dont work?
